Yes, Select A Flush will fit into most two piece toilets and is designed to work with your existing toilet.

SelectAFlush dual flush conversion kit fits most existing two piece toilets.  Save water on 1.6 gallon and larger toilets with left and right hand front facing levers.  It will not fit on toilets with handles on the side of the tank at this time.  We also require:

For the Valve

•  7/8" clearance from the edge of the tank to the edge of the currently installed flush valve.
• 12” of height from the inside bottom to the inside top of the tank. If your tank lid is hollowed with more depth you may subtract that for the 12", most have an additional 1/2" clearance.

For the Handle

• 1 3/8 " clearance is needed from the inside of the tank to the center of the flush lever hole.
• Handle must be front facing on the left or right hand side of the tank.

SelectAFlush dual flush seals are highly engineered and designed to provide years of trouble free service and water savings. The most frequent reason the dual flush valve leaks is due to following 3 reasons:

1. The chain strap is to tight causing the upper float too not seat.  Solution: Loosen the strap until the chain is slightly slack when valve is in the at rest position.
2. The valve stem nut is leaking at base of valve. Solution: Tighten the stem nut to a VERY tight position so the stem seal is compressed and not able to leak.
3. The float seals are not installed correctly or have been disrupted during shipping and installation. Solution: Make sure the float seals are flat and on the outside as well as the insideof the float seal land. Run your fingers along the edge to check for a good fit.

• Adjust the water level in the tank so it is about 1” or less below the SelectAFlush overflow tube.  Test the rinse flush three times. If that does not fix it proceed to the next step.
• Reduce the fill pressure by turning down the water fill valve at the wall below the toilet so the fill valve will cause less turbulence inside the tank. Test the flush three times.  If that does not fix it proceed to the next step.
• Is the tank level?
• Is the bottom float seal installed correctly?
• If all of the above does not solve your problem - add a small weight in the bottom float behind the seal- one or two stainless steel washers should be sufficient.

Note: We have had some popping issues related to the Hydroclean Fill Valve by MJSI Inc. This is a great valve to use, however it does create a lot of turbulence in the bottom of the tank and in some cases the jet will push water directly against the bottom of the second stage float forcing it to pop.  We have solved these problems by raising the water level, adjusting the jet to aim in another direction and in some cases adding a small weight in the bottom float behind the seal a stainless steel washer will do the trick just fine.

Before you Install SelectAFlush

Before you remove the tank, check that the flush handle will fit your tank and that the lever extension is long enough.  The tank must meet the following criteria:

1. Your handle must be front facing on the left or right hand side of the tank.
2. 12” of height is required from the inside bottom to the inside top of the tank.
3. 7/8” clearance is required from the edge of the flush drain hole to the edge of the tank.

We suggest that you start installation by removing the original toilet handle and installing the SelectAFlush handle.  Check to make sure the tank lid will close and there is no interference with our lever assembly.

Post Installation Adjustments and Troubleshooting

After you have successfully installed your SelectAFlush dual flush conversion kit some final adjustments may be necessary.

1. The water level in the tank needs to be high enough to keep the lower float from “popping” during the rinse flush.  Adjust the water level in the tank until the lower float remains closed during the rinse flush.  We have found in most cases that the water level should be from 3/8th of an inch to 2” below the overflow hole.  You can continue to reduce the level until the lower float pops (or toilet stops flushing properly) then raise it ¼”.
2. It is important that the refill water be directed through the hole in the stem cap.  Make sure that the refill tube is secured through the small hole.  The water fill valve must be in good working order and not leak into the tank bypassing the stem cap hole.
3. When reinstalling the tank, it should be as level as possible.
